Finalists of Cumbria Tourism Awards unveiled

Calvert Lakes has been selected among the finalists

The finalists of this year’s Cumbria Tourism Awards have been officially unveiled.

The awards celebrate the very best of Cumbria’s vibrant tourism economy. More than 100 entries have been whittled down to this shortlist of finalists. The businesses have shown that they are offering fantastic quality, service and care to our visitors against a backdrop of one of the most challenging periods in the industry’s history.

The finalists now face another round of judging, with a visit from one of Cumbria Tourism’s mystery shoppers or judges before the winner of each category is decided.

All the successful finalists will be invited to join the tourism ‘Oscars’ which makes a long-awaited comeback after a three-year absence. The celebration takes place on July 6 at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal.

The awards evening will be hosted by Dave Guest, one of the most recognisable faces on North West TV screens, having spent almost 40 years with the BBC documenting some of this region’s most memorable moments.
