A man has been arrested after a police raid found a significant amount of cannabis at a property in Barrow.

Officers said they acted on community concerns and arrested a man after carrying out a drugs warrant at a property on Longreins Road.

Police seized a significant amount of cannabis, suspected drugs paraphernalia and an extendable baton following the warrant, carried out at 8.20am.

The arrested man, 22, of Barrow, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class B drug and possession of an offensive weapon.

He was later released under investigation.

The warrant was executed by uniformed response officers and tactical support group officers.

Police continue to appeal for any information on suspected drugs offences.
