Three Kendal players who were forced to miss last week’s Cumbria County Championship game will start the second fixture against the East Midlands.
Cumbria were beaten 31-24 by Staffordshire in their opening game while Kendal were frustrated by the non-arrival of Douglas for their final North One West fixture.
Lock Reece Tomlinson will go straight into the pack and play alongside Kendal team-mate Greg Wrathall who was drafted in at the 11th hour last week. Glen Weightman comes in at fly-half and Ben Dixon will play on the wing.
In addition, Matt Houghton, Steve Nelson and Glenn Chesher join the replacements as Cumbria go for the win which will keep them firmly in contention for the knockout stages of the competition.
Coach Dan Bowman said: “East Midlands beat Warwickshire in their opening game so it will be a test, however, they don’t draw from any club in particular as Staffordshire did with Burton.
“As far as we are concerned we won’t be asking to play any different from last week, except to be more disciplined and to improve our kicking game.”
The Cumbria team is: Jamie McNaughton (Penrith), Harry Huddleston (Kirkby Lonsdale), James Coulton (Kirkby Lonsdale), Ryan Scott (Aspatria), Ben Dixon (Kendal); Glen Weightman (Kendal), James Telford (Carlisle), Mark Irving (Sandbach), Tom Graham (Carlisle, capt), Arran Sullivan (Whitehaven), Greg Wrathall (Kendal), Reece Tomlinson (Kendal), Peter Weightman (Barnes), Sam Wilson (Cockermouth), Sam Farrar (Chester). Replacements: Aaron Pamphilon (Penrith), Matt Houghton (Kendal), Chris Park-Johnson (Kirkby Lonsdale), Will Addyman (Ilkley), Steve Nelson (Kendal), Adam Howe (Penrith), Glenn Chesher (Kendal).
The game is being played at Carlisle’s Warwick Road ground, kick-off 3pm.
