Workington Town agree two more Hull KR loan deals

Workington Town’s working relationship with Hull KR has continued with two more loan deals agreed for a fortnight.

Will Tate, 20, is making a welcome return to Derwent Park after an impressive two-game spell last month when he looked like a very promising young player. He scored a try in the derby defeat by Whitehaven and also played at Dewsbury.

This time he’s joined by Robins’ team-mate Tom Wilkinson, a powerful second row forward who is looking for first-team experience on loan after a break in reserve team fixtures.

Wilkinson, 19, was promoted to the first-team set-up in 2021 and has featured regularly for the reserve team and under 19s.

Town have been hampered by injuries this season and frustrating attempts to bring in reinforcements.

But they have recently signed the Davies twins – Connor and Curtis – who have been playing in France and taken Glenn Riley from Whitehaven in a swap loan deal.

They travel to Barrow on Sunday for a Cumbrian derby hoping to end their losing run in the Betfred Championship.
