The week that started with a clutch of departures is ending with some familiar names committing again to Workington Reds.
Get the bad new out of the way first, and Reds certainly did with Brad Carroll, Brad Hubbold, Kyle Harrison, Nico Evangelinos and Scott Fenwick all announced as moving on.
But since then Workington have seen six familiar faces agree to stay and join Danny Grainger’s renewed bid to lead the side to promotion.
Now a seventh player has confirmed he is staying with the Reds – midfielder Ceiran Casson who had originally been coached by Grainger at Carlisle United who joined him at Borough Park after being freed by the Blues.
Casson said after signing: “I’m buzzing to sign on again this year and can’t wait for pre-season to start. It will be great to see all the lads again and begin our push for promotion.
“I feel like everyone is even more determined to win the League after how last season ended.”
Grainger said: “Cass is a fantastic young player who was tremendous in my first spell and I’m looking forward to seeing him kick on again this season and get back to those levels.”
Casson has a fine Reds pedigree. His great grandfather Kenny Wallace senior and his grandfather Kenny Wallace junior both played full-back for the club in the Football League.
