Barrow defender Matt Platt has signed for Bradford City after his contract expired with the Bluebirds.
The South Cumbrians had offered the 24-year-old a new deal but the club could not reach an agreement and Platt’s switch to join Mark Hughes’ League Two rivals has now been confirmed.
Platt came through the youth ranks with Blackburn without playing a game for them but during that time, as well as spells at Accrington and Southport, he also had two loan spells with Barrow.
He played eight games in 2017 and a further 29 in 2019/20 before signing a permanent deal.
In total he has played 97 League and Cup games for the Bluebirds and scored four goals.
A club statement said: “Everybody at Barrow would like to thank him for his efforts and wish him well for the future.”
