Ged

A search has begun to locate the dog of the family involved in the Distington fire.

Ged, a black Labrador, is missing and people have been out in the area searching for him.

A 14-year-old girl and a 58-year-old man died in the house blaze at Toll Bar Cottages yesterday.

Mackenzie Leder has issued a plea on Facebook for people to keep a look out for Ged in the Distington, Lillyhall and Workington areas.

She said in a post: He will be in survival mode and likely laying low somewhere. If your heading out to have a look if if can spot him please remember – no calling/shouting his name, no following him with cars and please no loud or sudden moments if you do spot him.

“Please just take a picture and note down your location and then contact us.

“We’ve been out all day covering immediate areas with the Pulsar and the drone but sadly nothing. His heartbroken owner is desperate to have him back.”

People are asked to call 07874971871 if they see Ged.
