A Carlisle man accused of a robbery at a city bookmakers and burgling a nearby bingo hall with intent to steal on the same day has appeared in court.
David Scott Pattinson, 31, faces two charges which arise out of incidents which were both reported to have occurred on August 7 last year.
Pattinson stands accused of robbing a woman at Coral, in Denton Street, Denton Holme, of £1,221.80 cash.
He also faces a charge which alleges burglary and that he entered Opera Bingo on the same street with intent to steal.
Pattinson appeared at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court this morning remotely over a video link. His solicitor, John Smith, confirmed of the incidents: “They take place on the same day in the same street but they are not really linked.”
No formal pleas were entered by Pattinson, of Baird Road, Carlisle, during the 10-minute court hearing. No details about the two incidents were outlined by the prosecution.
Pattinson is next due to appear in front of a crown court judge with a provisional date set for July 22.
