Whitehaven’s tasty Betfred Championship clash with new leaders Leigh Centurions has been moved.

It was originally plotted into the fixture list for Monday, July 25 with a 7.45pm kick-off to be screened by Premier Sports.

Today’s fixture announcement confirms that it will now be played at the LEL Arena the day before, Sunday July 24 with a 3pm kick-off. This will not be shown by Premier Sports who have not announced an alternative fixture to be covered.

Leigh have just gone to the top of the Championship after beating long-time leaders Featherstone Rovers.

In the corresponding game at the Leigh Sports Village in the first half of the season Leigh beat Whitehaven 50-4.

Haven are currently preparing for Sunday’s Championship game at home to York City Knights and the potential debuts of three players.

Luke Broadbent has switched his loan deal from Warrington to Workington and instead will complete the season at the LEL Arena.

There are also two exciting French players arriving on loan from Catalan Dragons – Corentin Le Cam and Cesar Rouge.

Last Sunday Rouge starred for France in their international victory against Wales when Whitehaven centre Will Evans was in the opposing Welsh side.

To make room for the three new arrivals, the three players on loan from Hull FC – Marcus Walker, Davy Litten and Jacob Hookem have returned to their parent club.
