
Penrith won the Colts tournament as Carlisle’s Border City Sevens got underway at Warwick Road last night.
Four teams contested the opening event in the week-end festival, playing each other in a round robin format.
Penrith had started with a comprehensive 55-0 win over West Cumbria Ba Baas and followed up by beating Keswick 27-0.
Their toughest game was with hosts Carlisle but they took the points with an exciting 21-12 victory.
The other games on the night ended: Carlisle 17, Keswick 12; Carlisle 64, West Cumbria Ba Baas 0; Keswick 45, West Cumbria Ba Baas 5.

Sue Glendinning, the Carlisle President presented the trophy to the Penrith captain Lewis Newton.
The festival continues today with the men’s and women’s tournaments.
