A person was taken to hospital following a carbon monoxide leak at a home in Whitehaven.

Whitehaven Fire Station was called at around 10.50pm on Friday to Cambridge Road, after reports that a carbon monoxide alarm was going off.

One casualty was given oxygen therapy by the fire service trauma technician before being handed to North West Ambulance Service.

Firefighters used oxygen, one breathing apparatus and a gas monitor. Crews were detained for about an hour.
