An Ulverston firm has joined a ground-breaking trade association.
Forge Europa, which creates LEDs, is now working with the University of Lancaster as a member of The Electech Innovation Cluster.
The cluster aims to increase the representation of local SMEs in the technology industry and collaborate about challenges, such as changing markets.
David Scott-Maxwell, managing director of Forge, said: “Innovation is at the core of everything we do so to join forces with Electech makes perfect sense.
“The market sectors we and other members operate in help to create high-value jobs and improve the economic output of Morecambe Bay and South Lakes. Collaborating with Electech enhances the local skill-set and increases knowledge sharing and networking.”
Forge won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Outstanding Innovation in 2009. Since launching in 1993 Forge has designed and manufactured world-leading LED solutions for some of the biggest brands in the world.
