Armstrong Watson’s Manchester team

A leading Cumbrian accountancy firm has opened its first office in Manchester.

The move follows Armstrong Watson’s recent acquisition of ASE Professional Services, the UK audit, accounting and tax compliance arm of ASE Automotive Solutions and specialists in the motor dealership sector.

The Greater Manchester office will be home to a 17-strong team, headed by audit and assurance director Steve Preston, who joins the firm from BDO, working alongside Michelle Malone, head of tax automotive, who transfers to Armstrong Watson leading ASE Professional Services.

Its decision to launch in Greater Manchester follows four other acquisitions for Armstrong Watson in the last 18 months, with the firm expanding in Leeds, Hexham, and Carlisle.

It is also building new headquarters on the site of one of its former offices at Rosehill, Carlisle, due to open next year.

Paul Dickson, Armstrong Watson managing partner and chief executive, said: “We’re delighted to launch in Greater Manchester and to welcome ASE Professional Services staff and clients to Armstrong Watson. We look forward to further growing our presence across the north and expanding across our multifaceted services and specialisms.”
