Despite the best efforts of the weather to put a dampener on things Workington Reds hailed their open day as a great success.
The day started with a group from Reds In The Community playing a small sided game on the pitch, in which a talented group displayed some outstanding performances.
Fans had been keenly awaiting the kit launch and Dav Symington, Lewis Reilly, Danny Eccles and Bobby Carroll modelled the new home, away, goalkeepers and players travel kit.
The new home kit sees a return to the traditional red shirts but with a subtle halved design which gets its origins from the new Reds badge launched a couple of seasons ago.
A large group of first and development team players were put through a comprehensive session which centred around keeping possession and moving the ball.
It was all under the watchful eyes of Danny Grainger and Stephen Rudd, alongside Development coaches Lee McCullough and Malcolm Allison.
On the pitch the activity was more relaxed in the afternoon as Reds Juniors joined a number of first team players for a fun kick about with the Juniors coming out on top.
Director Richard Lewthwaite said: “Off the pitch we held a very successful lunch for our valued volunteers, when some good discussions were held about how we can support them and develop that side of the club.
“The afternoon finished with a Q&A session and the panel included Danny Grainger, Steven Rudd, Phil Norman and Dav Symington.
“They fielded a wide range of questions on subjects such as the new stadium project, our potential rivals for promotion this coming season and much more.
“We were delighted to host Every Life Matters who had a stall in the Tony Hopper Bar, further developing their relationship which they have forged with the ladies team.
“All in all a great day and one we will be looking to build on in coming years.”
