Police are investigating a common assault and racially aggravated public order offence in Carlisle.
The incident happened on London Road, near Hill Top Heights at about 12.45am on August 20.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was not injured.
Officers are looking for a man in connection with the incident, described as white and 6ft, who was wearing a white T-shirt, denim jeans and a dark coloured gilet.
