The best Cumbrian food will be showcased at two Eden pubs later this year – and people are urged to book early to avoid disappointment!

Back by popular demand, family-run pubs the Sun Inn in Newton Reigny and the Kings Arms in Stainton will hold Taste of Cumbria evenings in October, featuring locally sourced ingredients.

The seven-course tasting menu features cheeses from Appleby Creamery, local lamb, Cumberland sausage and much more, plus a wine flight.

The special menu will be available at the Sun Inn on Friday October 7, and at the Kings Arms on Saturday October 8.

Taste of Cumbria menu

Canapes

Made using a selection of Appleby Creamery cheeses

Blue cheese beignet ● Goats cheese, damson gel ● beer and onion

Pear Fizz – Cointreau, pear, lime and Prosecco

Lamb

Braised breast of Lamb ● Eden Fuggle ale ● seared scallop ● broad bean puree ● anchovy mayonnaise

Dark Horse Chardonnay – California – 13.5%

Fish

Arctic char ● peas and Stonehouse Smokery chorizo ● pomme puree

Heritages Cotes du Rhone Rose – France – 13.5%

Cumberland sausage
