Another RFU reorganisation will be unveiled on Saturday with the first games in a new season.
Four of the county sides are in Regional Two North, which in effect is a Cumbria/North East section and three of them start with home fixtures.
The only ones on the road are Carlisle who start life under new coach George Graham, the former Scotland RU international.
They travel to play South Shields Westoe encouraged by a warm-up performance against Kirkby Lonsdale and a County Cup win against Egremont.
Penrith had a good warm-up in the Cumbria Cup, hitting the 60-point mark against Wigton and they will start at home to Durham City.
Aspatria suffered a home defeat to Upper Eden – albeit by a point in a really competitive County Cup tie – so will be looking to respond with a winning start at home to Middlesbroiugh.
Keswick complete the Cumbrian quartet with a home game against Consett while Stockton v Morpeth and Northern v Percy Park complete the opening fixtures in that Division.
Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale are Cumbria’s two sides in Regional One North West and both are on their travels. Kendal open at Sandbach while Kirkby Lonsdale visit Rossendale.
The Cumbria League will be contested by 12 clubs following the late decision by Furness to drop out.
They will play each other once, either home or away before the League will be split. The top six and the bottom six will then play home and away giving them another ten fixtures.
The opening games are: Silloth v Penrith II; Workington v Creighton; Wigton v Egremont (being played Friday night); Upper Eden v Hawcoat Park; St Benedict’s v Millom.
Cockermouth and Whitehaven are both spare on the opening day.
