On the eve of the new League season, the draw for the semi-finals in the Cumbria County Cup has been made.
The two ties have to be played by October 8 and it will be left to the participating clubs to agree a date over the next five weeks.
Carlisle have been drawn at home to fellow Regional Two North rivals Penrith, with the two set to meet in the League on November 12 at Winters Park.
To reach the semi-final stage both teams beat Cumbria League opposition. Carlisle beat Egremont after a tough battle while Penrith were comfortable winners against Wigton.
Upper Eden, Cumbria League unbeaten champions last season, will have a chance to test themselves against the top-ranked club in the competition Kendal. The tie will be played at Pennine Park, Kirkby Stephen.
It’s been a promising start by Upper Eden with two friendly victories against strong north east opposition followed by a thrilling quarter final win by a point at Aspatria.
Kendal reached this stage without a game as scheduled quarter final opponents Whitehaven conceded.
