Thursday night’s weather was perfect for the trails at Sandale but numbers were down with only 30 contesting the four races.

It’s possible that an outbreak of the kennel cough has played a part in reduced numbers.

In the seniors Jenny’s Quest was in good form for Denis Bland again and finished well to beat Nicola McMaster’s Martha.

Puppy table leader Huntsman’s Rebel collected win number 24 for the season, putting her 12 clear of Ned’s Gain with two months of the season remaining.

She had the Irving family’s Rex the Rocket in behind while the consistent Lady Million was third for the Listers.

Christopher Henderson’s Shine On took the non-winners and in that particular grade points table is now only one behind Foxparke Whoosh.

In the last race of the night nine runners contested the open restricted and Malcolm and Ann Holmes’ Sir Robert from Penrith beat Milo Moon of the Hill family from Carlisle.
