West Cumbrian Craig Cook is back in the line-up for the restaging of the Sports Insure British Final Championship at Belle Vue on Sunday (3pm).
A former champion Cook had been ruled out by injury for the original meeting when the weather intervened on August 1 and rain forced the abandonment after Heat 12.
He gets his chance as the only change from last month’s line-up with Danyon Hume now ruled out due to a broken collarbone.
Cook will be one of five former Workington riders in the line-up with both him and Charles Wright former winners of the prestigious title.
They are joined by Kyle Howarth, Richard Lawson and man of the moment Dan Bewley, who has had two Grand Prix victories to his name since the first British Final was abandoned.
The meeting will also feature the Nigel Pearson Award with supporters invited to vote after heat 20 for their most entertaining rider from a shortlist of four, as the sport pays tribute to the much-loved writer and broadcaster who died earlier this year.
The full line-up is: Connor Mountain, Leon Flint, Chris Harris, Steve Worrall, Kyle Howarth, Dan Bewley, Paul Starke, Craig Cook, Charles Wright, Lewis Kerr, Richard Lawson, Richie Worrall, Danny King, Scott Nicholls, Adam Ellis, Tom Brennan. Reserves: Jordan Jenkins, Jack Shimelt.
