A Penrith Razzamataz theatre school owner and franchisee has been shortlisted for the ‘Oscars’ of the franchising industry.
Asha Marie Richardson is in the running for the coveted Lifestyle Franchisee award in the bfa HSBC British Franchise Awards thanks to her ambition and dedication to the organisation.
Growing up in a rural area as the only mixed-race family, performing arts played a huge part in Asha Marie’s, and her siblings’ life.
At 23, she started work as a teacher for Razzamataz Penrith, but she knew that she wanted a bigger challenge and believed that she could offer more as a franchisee.
Known as the ‘Oscars’ of the franchising industry and set to take place in Birmingham, the bfa HSBC British Franchise Awards evening is the flagship event in the franchising calendar.
The Lifestyle category of the awards represents franchisees who may have bought into franchising to get a better work life balance or be their own boss and have a determination to stand out from the crowd.
Asha Marie will be battling it out against two other business women from across the UK to take home the coveted accolade in November.
Gillian Morris, Head of Franchising, HSBC, said: “The annual awards are a celebration of the achievements of the franchise sector, as well as the high standards of the finalists, their innovation and resilience demonstrated over the past year. We look forward to celebrating success with Asha Marie.”
Originally established in 2000, Razzamataz Theatre Schools was backed in 2007 by BBC’s Dragons’ Den.
Franchisees can set up their school on their own doorstep, and bring their passion, talent and commitment to the young people of the local area. Making performing arts available to all young people no matter their background or circumstances.
