
Workington RNLI volunteers were called out to help a yacht after it ran aground.
The crew launched its inshore lifeboat after they were called at 10.55am today, Thursday September 29, by the Coastguard.
The yacht had run aground by the pier after leaving Workington Harbour.
The lifeboat crew managed to attach a tow line and take the yacht to deeper water. The yacht managed to start its engine and proceeded to Maryport.
Workington RNLI escorted the yacht to Maryport where the boat was meet by members of Maryport Coastguard Rescue.
