Buses are set to replace some Barrow trains for over a week as platform improvements take place.
Trains between Barrow, Ulverston and Windermere will not run from October 8 to October 16 due to the works, but buses will run as a replacement for the missing services.
The news comes after services have faced severe disruption this week from RMT strike action.
The disruption is due to Network Rail work taking place to extend platforms at Dalton, Kents Bank and Staveley stations and allow for longer trains with increased capacity in the future.
The line closures will take place every day and customers are urged to check services before they travel.
Trains will continue to run between Barrow, Whitehaven and Carlisle.
