Kendal Town’s Westmorland County Cup-tie at home to Keswick last night was postponed.
The Mintcakes have a big North West Counties League game at home to leaders Vauxhall on Saturday and want to give the pitch every chance.
Chairman Michael O’Neill said: “We had a home game last Tuesday and there was a Westmorland League final the following night. The rain since has really affected the pitch and although it might have been 50-50 to play Keswick it was better to save it for a League game on Saturday.”
The Cup-tie with Keswick has now been rearranged for a fortnight’s time on Tuesday, October 18. The winners of that tie will be at home to Kirkby Stephen in the next round.
In the west of the county Windscale should have hosted Eden United in the first round of the Cumberland County Cup but the visitors were unable to raise a team.
