Jenny’s Quest can now be officially confirmed as the HTA senior champion for 2022.

Although she didn’t run at Millstone Moor yesterday her only rival capable of drawing level could only manage third place.

Duchess Ava remains four behind and with just three meetings left her chance of the title has gone after leading for a long time this season.

The interest now will be in who can finish second to Jenny’s Quest with Duchess Ava currently leading Winterfell by one.

Both were slipped at Millstone Moor when 11 runners were involved in the opener.

Winterfell was sent off the favourite and as they went behind the farm he was in front.

But as they cleared the last gate Cracking Last One Two just had the edge and the pair fought neck and neck up the finish.

It was close but just a yard off the pace Cracking Last One Two just got up to win.

Winterfell just lacked a little sparkle to finish up the hill and that might be down to the effort put in recently with two runs on a Buttermere course which is regarded as pretty hard.

There were only three runners for the senior maidens and it was Tania Satterthwaite’s Samcro and Lisa Whitfield’s Black Edition who showed on the finish.

They raced each other up the finish but it was Samcro who just got home first.

Overwater Eddie had been the favourite and was in the lead when it stopped behind the farm and went back some distance before coming on again, but by that time the other two had finished.

Carol Jackson and Clementine.

The champion Huntsman’s Rebel was not among the 11 pups who contested the junior trail but there were still some good youngsters involved.

It proved an excellent finish between the favourite Lady Million and the second favourite Foxparke Beep Beep.

They fought it out all the way up the hill but Lady Million just shaded it by a nose.

Five hounds contested the puppy maidens and it was Carol Jackson’s Clementine who came with the lead and went on to beat Tony Jackson’s Kinniside Bobby and Gary Woodend’s Twilight Mist.

The next meeting is scheduled for Cumrew on Thursday when there will be £200 up for grabs in each of the five trails. It starts at 1pm.
