Kendal made it back-to-back wins in the North West Counties League when they beat Winsford 3-1 at Parkside Road.
It made up for Saturday’s narrow 4-3 defeat at home to Longridge in the FA Vase.
Manager Jimmy Marshall later paid tribute to the fans who had played their part in their victory.
“They were superb, singing and cheering throughout the game to provide a great atmosphere.
“We want to make it a fortress at Parkside Road and that sort of backing from the fans does help,” he said.
They couldn’t have asked for a better start, taking the lead after only four minutes.
Steve Yawson let fly and the keeper could only parry with Tom Kilifin getting there to score from a narrow angle.
Yawson had a hand in the second on 17 minutes when he played the ball across the box for Ryan Winder to finish with a controlled shot into the bottom corner.
Kendal had largely controlled the first-half when they were undone by some sloppy defending five minutes before the break and Dylan McMahon gave Winsford a lifeline.
In the second-half Kendal had few alarms as they dominated again and really should have had more than the third goal they scored on 67 minutes through Shaun Sailor.
Marshall added: “Overall it was a good all-round, hard-working team performance.
“We moved things around a bit with team selection because we had 16 players available and I was pleased with everyone’s contribution.”
Kendal move away from League action on Saturday as they play the second round tie in the Westmoreland County Cup with Kirkby Stephen visiting Parkside Road, ko 1.30pm.
