Kendal Town boss Jimmy Marshall says the week’s break will give valuable time to work on things in training.
The Mintcakes have been playing mid-week throughout the North West Counties League season so far but have nothing until Saturday when they host Kirkby Stephen in the Westmoreland County Cup.
A late Tom Kilifin goal earned them a 1-1 draw at Charnock Richard on Saturday to extend their unbeaten League run to four games.
“I think the majority of the lads will enjoy the break which gives us time to work on things in training.
“Through the season so far it’s been play Saturday and Tuesday, so Thursday becomes something of a recovery session,” said Marshall.
Kendal’s recent run has seen them climb to 14th of 22 in the NWCL Premier Division and Marshall has his sights on going much higher.
“I thought we played really well on Saturday, particularly in the second-half and there’s no doubt we deserved the point, probably more.
“We controlled the game, were patient and played some good football and it got its reward,” said the manager.
There’s another break after Saturday’s County Cup-tie before Kendal travel on Saturday, November 19 to Burscough in the second round of the Macron Cup.
