
Barrow Raiders will stage the very first game in the 2023 Betfred Championship.
Paul Crarey’s side kick off the campaign at home to Toulouse Olympique on Saturday, February 4.
It’s a good one to introduce the new campaign as the French side are back in the Championship after finishing bottom of Super League.
The rest of the opening Championship fixtures are being played on the Sunday with Whitehaven starting with a trip to Bradford Bulls.
Whitehaven will open their home programme the following week against London Broncos while Barrow have another home game against Sheffield Eagles.
Barrow’s first away trip is on February 19 when they visit newly promoted Swinton Lion s while Whitehaven face a tough trip on the road to Featherstone.
The first county derby will be on Good Friday, April 7 as Barrow host Whitehaven.
The return at the LEL Arena will be on Monday, August 21.
The final Championship games ahead of the play-offs are fixed for the weekend of September 22-24.
Whitehaven host Toulouse Olympique on Saturday 23, while Barrow are at home on Sunday 24 to York.
Workington Town will be involved in the first League One fixture of the new season when they visit London Skolars on Saturday, February 18.
Town will be involved in the Challenge Cup the following week-end and stage their first game at Derwent Park on March 5 with West Wales Raiders the visitors.
New coach Anthony Murray will welcome a Good Friday (April 7) test against his old club, North Wales Crusaders now being coach by former Whitehaven and Barrow forward Carl Forster.
The final round of League One matches ahead of the play-offs are scheduled for Sunday, August 27 when Hunslet will be the visitors to Derwent Park.
Like everyone else in League One, Town will have two weekends when they don’t have a fixture. In their case they are May 28 and July 16.
