Barrow manager Pete Wild praised his side for their effort and graft in their Papa John’s Trophy defeat at Bolton.
Wild says that Bolton are a top-class League One side, who move then ball well and have quality players all over the park.
Wild said: “I felt it took us 20 minutes to get to grips with the game and we did really well to come back from 2-0 down to level early in the second-half.
“Unfortunately for us we had a nailed-on penalty not given. We’ve seen it back and the liner was in a perfect position and couldn’t deal with it.
“We made some tactical decisions at half-time to deal with how Bolton were playing. It was a lot to take on board in a short space of time and I thought they adapted well to those changes.
“At the end of the day we had magnificent support from our travelling fans and I’m sure they will appreciate the effort and graft the players put in for the football club.
“We now have a week’s rest before a big game at Stevenage a week on Friday. In fact December is going to be a really big month for us and I’m hoping we have everyone for the first test.”
