Helen Skelton was caught shooting a playful ‘snub’ at Gorka Marquez before her Blackpool performance on Strictly Come Dancing.

The former Blue Peter presenter was overheard by the BBC, who attach secret mics to the star’s during their performances and share the results the following week.

In the clip, Helen is fully in character as the music begins and standing with female backing dancers, she quips “he wishes!” at Gorka.

The professional dancer responded to the cheeky comment urging her “yeah, go, go go, go!” into the dance.

The clip is part of a highlight reel of secret mic moments shared by the show’s official account on Twitter and features humorous comments and sounds made by the stars as they breeze across the dancefloor.

The pair are currently favourites to win the series after they landed a score of 39 last week with their Blackpool quickstep, just one point shy of the maximum score of 40.

Ahead of this Saturday, the duo have officially confirmed they will be dancing a samba to Eso Beso by Emma Bunton. They are one of only six couples remaining.

The star was seen practicing her samba walk in a Penrith park earlier this week while Gorka and filming crew laughed and cheered.

On Instagram, Gorka also shared some videos of the breaks the duo have been taking in-between rehearsals to grab coffee and watch the world cup together.

Helen said: “Who needs to samba when you can watch Spain in the World Cup…come on Spain! For all our sakes…”

The star will need all the votes she can get in order to get through to next week’s quarter final.
