Kendal remain third bottom of Regional 1 North West but they do have 11 points in hand of Burnage who are in the second relegation place.
They went down 35-17 at home to third-placed Rossendale last week and on Saturday are on the road to Stockport.
Still looking for their first point of the season Kirkby Lonsdale also travel with fourth-placed Sandbach their hosts.
Carlisle could have done with a kinder follow up to their best performance of the season in Regional 2 North.
After a 31-31 draw with Keswick they must now travel to League leaders Morpeth who scored over 100 points last week against South Shields Westoe.
The general feeling in the Carlisle camp was that although it wasn’t a win, it was good to finish a game without an L in the column, and it could have been more.
Head Coach George Graham was delighted with the performance and the try bonus point, but frustrated at the chances lost, and tries coughed up.
Trailing 31-14 with 20 minutes left it represented a spirited and committed response by the city side who had opportunities to build their own lead earlier in the game.
Keswick, on the other hand, felt they should have won the game by not managing it better over the final quarter.
That draw left the Lakesiders four points clear of Stockton who currently share the relegation berths with Carlisle, who are bottom eight points adrift.
On Saturday Keswick are at home to Durham City who are fifth in a group of six clubs who have broken away from the other half dozen. Last week they lost 20-12 at home to Northern who are one place and four points better off.
Keswick know it’s the game against sides with them in the bottom six which will decide their fate this season, but any points gained against the top six could be crucial.
Penrith continue to chase Morpeth at the top and remain two points behind following their 45-12 win at Consett.
Penrith now face two tough games where they will again have to try and secure bonus point wins to stay in contention.
They start with Percy Park at home and then probably more onerous, Middlesbrough away who are the only side who have beaten the Winters Park men so far this season.
Aspatria were well beaten at Percy Park 43-15 last week, a result which was a sharp reminder of the difference in class between clubs in the two distinct Leagues within a League.
Saturday should be much more within their compass as they travel to Stockton who are next to bottom and were beaten 38-20 at Bower Park as recently as November 19.
No doubt about the top game in Counties 1 Cumbria. It’s the Pennine Park clash between leaders Upper Eden and second-placed Egremont.
The RFU’s team of the month for November, Upper Eden have continued from where they left off last season while Egremont are proving the surprise packages under new coach Adam Redhead.
Upper Eden won 52-0 at Creighton last week while Egremont are fresh from a hard-fought west Cumbrian derby win, 27-14 over St. Benedict’s.
The other games are: Penrith II v Millom; Wigton v Cockermouth; Whitehaven v Creighton and Silloth v Hawcoat Park.
