Match referee Andrew Kitchen is to inspect Brunton Park’s pitch at lunch-time ahead of Carlisle United’s game against Barrow tomorrow.
United have had covers installed all week as temperatures have plunged to below zero.
The League Two game with county neighbours Barrow is set for a 1pm kick-off but like clubs throughout the country, United are concerned about the freezing conditions.
Also in the county, Workington Reds are due to play Bootle at Borough Park and prospects were not good today, although a pitch inspection will be held tomorrow ahead of the opposition’s departure.

Bootle had not requested an early kick-off because of the England game so it is still fixed for 3pm.
In the Northern League First Division prospects aren’t good for Penrith’s trip to Thornaby or Carlisle City’s home game with West Allotment Celtic.
Kendal Town are due to entertain New Mills in the Macron Cup but again it will be the subject of a pitch inspection.
