£3,000-worth of spirits stolen from Lake District supermarket

Around £3,000-worth of alcohol was stolen from a Lakes supermarket.

Spirits were taken between 4.30pm and 5pm last Thursday at Kendal’s Sainsbury’s store on Shap Road.

Police have released a CCTV image of two people they would like to speak to as part of their investigations.

The suspects left in a blue jeep and officers would also like to speak to anyone else who witnessed this incident or can provide CCTV of the area at the time.

Police would also like to speak to the same men in connection with over £4,000-worth of spirits and items from Penrith’s Sainsbury’s store earlier the same day. The items were taken between 2pm and 2.45pm.

Officers said the crimes were believed to be linked.
