Whitehaven have confirmed that the club has reached a mutual agreement with Andrew Bulman to release him from the final year of his contract.
The club said that the winger had approached the club and asked for a release from his contract as he had fallen out of love with rugby and wanted to pursue opportunities away from the game.
It added: “The club is disappointed and wanted to keep Andrew, but we understand his decision and wish him all the best in his future and hopefully we will see him playing in chocolate blue and gold again in the future.”
On his departure Bulman said: “I would like to thank the board for allowing me the opportunity to have played for Whitehaven for the past four seasons and I wish them all the best for 2023.”

Bulman first signed for the club ahead of the 2019 season and scored 45 tries in 67 appearances.
Included in that stat is one of being the joint club record holder of tries scored in a game when he bagged six against Wigan St Patrick’s in only his third professional game in the Challenge Cup in March 2019.
