Whitehaven have suffered another blow with the departure of director Ashley Kilpatrick.
After three years on the board – during which time he served briefly as interim chief executive – he has announced that he is standing down.
He says that he just no longer has the time to commit to the club and reluctantly has had to stand down.
His departure follows a month after fellow director Gary Eilbeck also announced that he was leaving after 13 years involvement with the club.
Kilpatrick said he would still be attending home matches and wished the club all the best for the future.
“I’ve told Jonty (Gorley) that if he wants any help I will be happy to do so. I don’t mean in pulling boots on but with players,” he said.
Kilpatrick earned an excellent reputation during his time at the club for the deals he helped set up with good players joining Whitehaven, particularly from overseas or on loan.
“There are so many good people involved at Whitehaven and I know there are things in the pipeline which, if they come off, will be good for the club going forward,” he said.
