Workington Town will have club captain Stevie Scholey back from injury to lead them against North Wales Crusaders on Friday afternoon.
In a double boost for coach Tony Murray experienced centre Jason Mossop is also back in the match-day squad after missing the trip to Birmingham for the win over Midlands Hurricanes 10 days ago.
Murray said: “It’s a boost having those two lads back in the squad because I’m expecting a really tough game against the Crusaders.
“I know they haven’t won in League One yet but they have a very powerful and experienced pack of forwards. Carl Forster, as player coach, gives them that extra bit of know how and direction on the field.
“They haven’t been beaten by much in the games that they have lost so it’s going to be a test for us.”
Murray, of course, joined Town after a successful spell as North Wales coach and says that about half to three quarters of the squad were there when he was in charge.
Keen to play down his previous role with the visitors Murray insists it isn’t about him, but down to his players maintaining a fairly consistent start to the new season.
“We go into it in decent form, It was a good win down in Birmingham and we gave a good account of ourselves against the top team Dewsbury. Before that we were only beaten in the last minute at another of the top teams, Doncaster.
“I’m happy with the way the players have been training and performing and if we can stay consistent with our performances I will be happy,” he said.
Town have three long term absentees through injury in Tom Curwen, Malik Steele and Carl Forber.
