Business law firm Baines Wilson is helping a talented young Cumbrian lawyer to carve out a career as a commercial property specialist.
Julie-Anne Miller, 29, joined Baines Wilson in March.
Born and raised in Maryport, where she attended Netherhall School, she graduated with a first-class degree in law from the University of Cumbria.
She then completed a legal practice course at the University of Northumbria, studying part-time while working as a paralegal at a law firm in West Cumbria. She qualified as a solicitor in 2018.
Julie-Anne said: “I decided on law as a career when I was in the sixth form. I’ve always been academic. I wanted something that would stretch me and where I could continue to learn and develop.”
The move to Baines Wilson was prompted by a desire to specialise in commercial property transactions.
She said: “Commercial property work is complex and testing. When the position arose at Baines Wilson, it was too good to miss.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge and learning from the very experienced commercial property team. It’s a great opportunity for me.”
