BECBC’s board of directors

Leading business organisation Britain’s Energy Coast Business Cluster has announced its board of directors for the next three years.

The seven-strong team, who all volunteer their time, were elected at the organisation’s latest AGM.

A new face for this term is Paul Pointon, vice president of Amentum.

Lee Grears, board chair, said: “I am always amazed at how much commitment our directors, who all have full-time jobs, show as they volunteer to keep driving BECBC
forward. I would like to welcome Paul to the team.

“We are excited to have him join the board and I believe that his vast experience will help us deliver on our goals to create an environment in which members can easily collaborate and do business, particularly in the energy sector.”

Paul said: “Throughout my career, I have experienced life from both a private and public sector perspective and understand how difficult it can be to conduct business in the nuclear industry. I have witnessed first-hand the challenges facing the operator and the supply chain but have also experienced the pleasure of getting the cascade effect right – where everyone benefits including the broader community.

“I would like to offer this knowledge, expertise and experience to the business cluster board and help members forge alliances that open doors to business and successful outcomes for all involved.”

Ruth Sellick, of Orano, was re-elected to the board and remains as deputy chair. She said: “I have been inspired by the energy, resilience and continued appetite for collaboration of members, during some very challenging times for business and communities.

“I want to continue to convert this inspiration into initiatives that will open the door to business opportunities.”

Also elected were: Andrew Clitheroe (co-opted, finance director); Tom Scaife (co-opted, legal director); Peter Fleming; Gary Shuttleworth and Rhianna Smith (co-opted, chair of the shadow board).
