Striker Josh Gordon has thanked the staff and fans for his time at Barrow after agreeing to join Burton Albion for next season.
Burton have agreed to sign Gordon, as well as former Carlisle United striker Cole Stockton when their contracts with Morecambe and Barrow expire at the end of the month.
Both forwards have been handed two-year deals by the League One side.
In a tweet Gordon said: “Thank you to everyone involved at Barrow, players staff and fans. Loved my two years at the club and wish you all the best for the future.”
The 28-year-old had told the Burton website: “I wanted to get back to League One. I want to challenge myself and there are good teams in this league.
“I know Burton did well at the end of last season, and I want to be part of that going forward.”
Burton tried to sign Gordon in January but were unable to complete a deal at that time.
In his two seasons at Barrow, Stoke-born Gordon played 73 times scoring 21 goals, 15 of them last season.
Barrow have replaced Gordon with the signing of Jamie Proctor following the end of his contract at Port Vale.
The deal will see the striker link up with Barrow on an initial one-year deal, with an option for a further year.
The 31-year-old leaves Vale Park after two years in Staffordshire. During his first year, he fired 13 goals to help his side get promoted to League One via the Play-Offs.
Preston-born Proctor turned pro in 2010 with his home-town club and since then he has played for 14 different clubs, eight of them in loan situations.
One of those was Carlisle United for whom he played 17 times in 2017 and scored four goals.
He had made his first team debut at Preston as an 18 year old and after two seasons moved to Swansea City who were then a Premier League side Swansea City.
His longest spells have been at Fleetwood Town (64 appearances, 12 goals) and Crawley Town (62 games, 13 goals).
He had three seasons with Rotherham but for his final two years with the Millers out on loan at four different clubs.
After his contract expired at Rotherham in the summer of 2021 Proctor joined Darrell Clarke’s Port Vale.
