Carlisle United defender Morgan Feeney appears to have sparked a signature battle between Edinburgh giants Hearts and Hibs.
Although Hibernian’s interest has been public knowledge for a week it now appears as though fierce rivals Hearts are also interested in the 24-year-old defender.
According to the Daily Record, Hearts boss Steven Naismith is also interested in Feeney and is said to be preparing to rival Hibs for his signature.
It is believed that talks between Hearts and Feeney are taking place this week with Hibs already have spoken to the player.
Naismith is looking to complete his first bit of business since taking over the full-time role at Tynecastle.
Hibs boss Lee Johnson already knows Feeney having worked with him at Sunderland and is said to be hopeful of the player choosing a move to Easter Road this summer.
Johnson rates the player highly having had him on the books at the Stadium of Light and wants a reunion.
It looks as though Feeney is destined to make Scotland the next stage of his career as both Aberdeen and Motherwell have also both been credited with an interest in the ex-Everton youngster.
