A Whitehaven veterinary practice has won a hat trick of accolades at a national awards ceremony.
The Vet Whitehaven, just off the A595 at Hensingham, was named Best New Start-Up Vet Practice Northwest, Best Vet Practice in the County and made the Top 25 for the Best Vet Practice in the UK at the BestUKVets 2023 Awards.
The awards celebrate practices with the most four or five-star online reviews in each category. The Vet Whitehaven received over 650 four and five-star reviews in its first year of opening.
Business partners Sophie Murphy and Lynn Veitch opened the practice in April 2022. They said: “We are delighted to win these awards, we are so proud of our team at The Vet Whitehaven. We understand delivering a quality service is fundamentally down to having an inspired, well-motivated and competent team.
“We aim to develop a positive work culture by providing our staff with the correct training and inspiration to create an overall rewarding environment. We are proud to have an all-female team of 15, with three full-time vets, soon to be four as the business expands further.
“Our practice is built on three core values: trust, compassion, and community. Integrity is the backbone of our business, and we aim to bring our core values to everything we do at The Vet Whitehaven.
“Every team member has worked very hard in the last year to provide a top veterinary service to our clients and their pets in West Cumbria. So, we must say a huge thank you to our dedicated team. We are also very grateful for the support we have received from all our valued customers.”
