Keswick will stage Cumbria’s final Group game of the NCCA Knock-out Trophy on Sunday – with fingers crossed for a full day’s play.
Matches scheduled for the award-winning Fitz Park in 2021 and 2022 were both abandoned because of rain.
Cumbria are due to play Lincolnshire this time and the game is all about winning it to head the Group and earn a home tie in the quarter finals.
Having won their three other games, Cumbria are currently equal on points with Northumberland in the group but in second place on Net Run Rate. The match at Fitz Park provides the opportunity to secure an additional point (through a win or a tie) so to top the group as Northumberland have finished all their games.
Cumbria have had to make some enforced changes to the side which beat Nortumberland due to the unavailability of some players, including Chris Wright who will be on duty for Leicestershire after making key contributions in both his games for Cumbria. However, they are boosted by the return to fitness of both Gary Pratt and Ed Moulton.
Wright is playing for Leicestershire in a County Championship game at home to Durham which starts on Sunday.
Lincolnshire, whilst not being able to qualify, visit Keswick after a resoundingly victory over Oxfordshire by 201 runs thanks in no small part to an opening partnership between Jaden Fell and Ben Wright of 178 in less than 30 overs.
Following that their ex-Surrey, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire left arm quick bowler Mark Footitt producing the extraordinary figures of 7 for 14 in 10 overs now confirmed as a competition record.
At one stage, Footitt took six for five in 15 balls and was twice on a hat-trick.
Cumbria will be looking for another stellar performance by Freddie Fallows (Kendal and Durham UCCE) whose strike rate is currently 177 the highest in the competition of those who have scored over 100 runs.
The two sides have met 9 times previously in this One Day competition since 1988, with Lincolnshire winning 5 times and Cumbria 4 times.
Team: Michael Slack (Carlisle, capt), Freddie Fallows (Kendal), Sam Dutton (Furness), Ben Walkden (Newton-le-Willows), Gary Pratt (Richmondshire), Matthew Sempill (Cockermouth), Finlay Richardson (Kendal, wk), Ed Moulton (Chorley), Sam Sharp (Cockermouth), Nico Watt (Carlisle), Matthew Siddall (Cockermouth).
