Former Kendal coach to join Keswick Rugby Union Club

Keswick Rugby Union Club have announced that Garry Holmes, former coach at Kendal will be joining them as Head Coach.

The new man brings a wealth of experience, both as a player and as a highly qualified coach.

He has hit the ground running, organising senior players meetings and starting preparations for senior training starting this coming Tuesday – July 4.

Club chairman Trevor Keough said: “There will be a challenging season ahead where for the first time both senior men’s sides are part of the English Club’s Championship.

“The first team will once again be part of the level 6 Regional 2 North League and the 2nd team will compete at Level 7 in Counties Cumbria 1

“The senior men’s coaching team led by the new arrival Garry Holmes, also includes John Crichton and Martin Relph, and they are looking forward to some tough games starting with warm up matches at home to Vale of Lune on Saturday, August 12 and at home to Bolton on Saturday, August 19.

“As always new players are welcome to come and join us in the heart of the Lake District.”
