Moresby Primary School is celebrating a positive Ofsted report in which inspectors praised the standard of teaching and the behaviour and attitudes of the children.
The school retained its good rating following a visit from Ofsted inspectors in May.
The report, published this week, found that pupils are polite and respectful, and enjoy attending school.
Inspectors praised the breadth and quality of the education delivered to the children – both through the ambitious academic curriculum, where reading has been successfully prioritised by school leaders, and also thanks to the wide variety of clubs and opportunities on offer.
Pupils take on many roles of responsibility and have a variety of chances to perform publicly, which builds confidence and self-esteem.
On safeguarding, arrangements are found by inspectors to be effective with a clear reporting system in place. They said: “Leaders have ensured that staff have the training that they need to understand their safeguarding responsibilities.”
The report added: “Teachers have the knowledge and expertise to teach the curriculum well, presenting information clearly and checking what pupils know before moving on to new learning.
“Leaders have high expectations of learning and behaviour, and share these frequently with pupils and help them to understand how they can rise to them. The school is well led and managed.”
Headteacher Ross Peacock said: “We are pleased that the inspectors recognised again that we are a good school, and that we work hard for our children and families. We have a great community here, and our positive report rightly celebrates the efforts of our staff, governors, families and – most of all – our children.”
