
Barrow maintained their winning pre-season record by beating Preston North End 1-0 at the SO Legal Stadium.
The Bluebirds went into the game following victories over FC United of Manchester and Holker Old Boys and beat the Championship side with a strike from new signing David Worrall.
It was the first time that home fans had the chance to see the team, and the new arrivals in action, and 2,026 watched the game.
The only goal came as early as the fifth minute and was a well-constructed one.
Elliot Newby pulled to ball back to Dean Campbell who threaded it through to Ged Garner. He then squared it to Worrall who netted his first goal for Barrow.
Preston should have been level midway through the first half when Brad Potts headed past home keeper Paul Farman into the path of Ben Woodburn but his effort was blocked on the line by Tyrell Warren.

Newby was at it again in the second-half but this time he had the strike and Preston keeper Freddie Woodman produced a splendid reaction save.
Wild replaced everyone except Farman on the hour mark and they were soon close to adding to their lead.
George Ray found Courtney Duffus, who tried to find Emile Acquah on the six yard line. It wasn’t a good pass but the new forward brought it under control and his subsequent shot was just wide.
Preston came close to earning a draw ten minutes from time when Felipe Rodriguez evaded the home defence but put his finish into the side-netting.
The Bluebirds continue their preparations on Tuesday with a visit to AFC Fylde.
