Cleator Moor Celtic have retained the West Cumbria Veterans League title and with one game to play are unbeaten.
They made sure of the Championship with a 7-3 win over third-in-the-table St Benedict’s.
Gary George (2), Martin King (2), Steven Grieve, Chris Thornton and Barrie Fowler scored the goals for the Celtic veterans.
It actually avenged their only defeat so far against west opposition – losin 4-2 to Benny’s in the Veteran’s Trophy competition.
They beat both Flimby Social and Moor Row 13-0 and their tightest League game was a narrow 4-3 win over Seaton.
Elwyn Evans watched the game with St Benedict’s and took a number of photographs to give a taste of the action.
