Former Carlisle United defender Morgan Feeney has been discussing his move to Shrewsbury Town earlier in the summer.
The centre-half joined the Shrews a few weeks ago signing a two-year deal after his contract ran out at recently-promoted Carlisle.
He moved in as a right-sided centre-back and a like-for-like replacement for Matthew Pennington – who moved to Blackpool after his contract ran out at The Croud Meadow this summer.
Feeney says the club’s director of football Micky Moore and new head coach Matt Taylor played an essential part in his move with their plans to take Shrewsbury forward.
“It all aligns with my thinking as well, and I think that is massively important. So I was really excited when we were having those chats and for the project that is in place at the club.
“I am really looking forward to it and I just cannot wait to get going.”
Feeney played for Town for the first time last weekend against West Brom in a behind-closed-doors friendly, and he will continue to build up his fitness with his new team-mates when they take on Coventry City today.
