Workington Reds completed a north east treble to end their pre-season programme ahead of the new League campaign.
After impressive victories at Whitley Bay and Ashington, Danny Grainger’s men completed the hat trick by beating Dunston 5-0.
They start their NPL Premier Division campaign on Saturday at home to Ashton United.
Grainger used seven substitutes including Connor Hammell who has now been added to the squad after playing pre-season on trial.
Kofi Moore, who has made a pleasing bedding-in process with the Reds on his half season loan from Oldham Athletic, fired the first goal on 29 minutes when he showed good control, turned smartly and fired home.
Five minutes before half-time Reds doubled their lead when the ball fell to Matty Bell in the area and the full-back fired home his first goal for the club.
Then right on half-time skipper Conor Tinnion grabbed the third when he collected 25 yards out and wasted little time in finding the bottom corner.
Dav Symington added the fourth on 77 minutes when he curled in a typically-struck free kick and the scoring was completed on 84 minutes when Keelan Leslie scored a peach of a fifth.
Grainger said afterwards: “I’m really pleased that we are going into the League proper on the back of another positive performance. I think we have good competition for places, we have been scoring goals and keeping clean sheets and can’t wait to get started on Saturday.”
