For the second week in a row the West Cumbrian pigeons are set to race on Friday.
The two organisations – the Derwent Velley Federation and the West Cumberland Federation – both raced separately last Friday.
The Derwent Valley were at Charnock Richard while the West Cumberland liberated at Appleton.
This Friday the two federations will be liberated together as members of the West Cumbria Amalgamation and will be racing from Appleton.
The weather for the weekend is poor again so the decision was taken to race on Friday. So far this young bird season only one race has been held on the traditional Saturday.
Two Monday races and last week’s Friday race have avoided the poor weekend weather.
The Amalgamation say the birds will be marked on Thursday and should be liberated around noon at Appleton.
