Holders Workington Reds have landed a home draw in the first round of the Fred Conway County Cup,
They will host Gosforth as they start the defence of the trophy they won last season with a record-breaking 9-1 win over Penrith.
The first round draw has thrown up some cracking ties, with two in particular catching the eye.
West Cumbrian rivals Whitehaven and Cleator Moor Celtic, who meet tomorrow night at the County Ground in the West Lancashire League, have been drawn against each other – also at Whitehaven – in the County Cup.
There’s anticipation, too, in Carlisle at an inter-city clash which should be a mouth-watering confrontation – Carlisle City v Carlisle Utd.

The Sunday County Cup has also been drawn, with clubs in East and West kept separate until the quarter final stafe.
